Skiviez has opened a new Web site: men’s underwear discounters. This new Web site has been over a year in the planning and development stage and is now open just in time for the holidays. This Web site features discontinued merchandise from top brands at 25 to 75% off retail.

As Robert Clark, the president and CEO of Skiviez, Inc. explains, “… a shift in demand was starting to emerge last year during the economic downturn. This has led to certain customers who are strictly looking for the best deal in fashion and don’t mind buying styles from a season or two ago if they can save big. This is why we opened this new Web site to put all of the best deals in one place.”

The new Web site also represents the start of Skiviez’s transition to a custom-developed fulfillment platform that enables the company to fulfill orders for its multiple e-commerce stores via a single consistent interface, enabling Skiviez’s renowned same-day shipping and great customer service to be efficiently extended to Men’s Underwear Discounters and other forthcoming stores.

This new Web site features products that have been listed on the Skiviez Web site and will soon feature special buys from leading brand names who are looking to clear out their warehouses. The first improvement is that the search box in the upper right corner of every page will now dynamically suggest search results from a variety of sources. Type in “privacy” and a link to our privacy statement will appear. Type in “optic” and you’ll see a link to browse the entire 2xist Optic line. If you press enter or click the Go button to submit your search, you’ll be taken to a page that shows matching search results for your query. The power in this page lies in the list of links on the right-hand side. Want to quickly drilldown to the 2xist products that have a size small in stock? Just click “2xist” under the “Brand” heading and “S” under the “Size In Stock” heading, and now you’ve got a view of our product catalog that’s just what you wanted to see.

Indeed, browsing the search page without typing any search keywords (just press the “Go” button in the search box without typing any words) is a powerful and convenient way to browse the products on our Web site. You can construct some pretty unique views of our product catalog. You asked for more shipping options, and we listened. We’re proud to announce that we’ve integrated UPS shipping methods into our Web site and have made them available to many countries around the world.

Some of our customers had told us that they prefer one carrier over another, and so now we give you options–in fact, our United States customers have a whopping nine shipping options to choose from.

Our international customers can now choose a UPS Worldwide Expedited option, and Canadian customers can choose the UPS Worldwide Saver option as well.

The most obvious change is a new design for the site. We think that this design makes the site easier to read and navigate since we’ve removed a lot of clutter and lines from the interface.

Another major improvement is a simplified and streamlined checkout process. We admit that the old checkout process could be a little confusing–depending on whether or not you were a new customer or a returning one, you saw a different sequence of checkout pages. And many people didn’t like being asked to log into their account straight out of the gate. We feel we’ve addressed both of these issues in the new checkout, which we think is faster, simpler, and easier to understand.

You asked for alternative forms of payment, so we’ve added PayPal as a payment option. Even though we store all customer and payment information in a secure environment according to industry-accepted standards, we understand that some customers can get nervous over the idea. When you use PayPal, all of your financial information stays at PayPal, and you save time because you don’t have to re-enter all of that information on our Web site.

We’ve also made a boatload of small improvements to various areas of the site. These changes include prominently displaying fabric compositions and origin information on product pages and displaying discontinued products within search results. We’ve also added this blog, which we’ll use to let you know about Web site upgrades as well as upcoming sales. We’ll also answer some questions that our customers commonly ask us, such as why a particular product is so frequently backordered.

Finally, we’ve made a host of behind-the-scenes technical improvements to the site. While you can’t directly see the results of these changes, you’ll notice an overall performance increase in the Web site.
